I was really trying :)

To keep this blog updated this summer!  Needless to say I've been having too much fun with my sweet boy.  We've been to the aquarium, children's museum, all around town, and of course the beach!  This has been one of the fastest summers I've ever had.  We had a great time in the Keys.  Garrett had a blast and enjoyed playing with his FL friends.  He did great in the car; we are so thankful we have an "easy rider" :)  We made it all the way down to mile marker 0 in Key West.  It was scorching hot but I made sure to get pictures!  I have to go back to work in 2 weeks :(  I'm going to try to do better with updating but can't make any promises!  Here are some pictures of our adventures.

This poor, neglected blog

So needless to say, life goes by way too fast!  And as is such, I can't keep up :)  I've tried to be better about blogging but something always seems to come up every time I sit down to type.  My summer vacation officially started last Wednesday and I have been having so much fun getting to spend each day with my sweet boy.  

Garrett is all over the place.  He loves to play "chase" and has gotten really good at hiding.  He loves to go into his room and hide on the side of his crib.  He actually doesn't even make a peep when you go searching for him (that's probably going to be a bad thing later on).  He talks up a storm although most of his words are still unknown to us.  He has started saying "mama" more and it melts my heart each time I hear it.  He's trying to say all done and calls airplanes, "airpoo".  

We started swim lessons in May and they are going great.  He's getting good at getting his body to lay flat and he'll try to kick his feet and move his arms.  He loves to practice in the tub.  He is not scared, at all, of the water.  We have two more weeks left of the class.  

His eye teeth have also come in and those were a bear to get to cut thru the gum.  Thankfully it didn't bother him too much.  

I started going to the gym this week.  I took a spinning class yesterday and did Zumba today.  That spinning class was fun but boy am I paying for it today :)  

We leave in 2 weeks for the Keys and I can't wait!

15 months

Two weeks ago, my sweet baby boy turned 15 months old.  I have no idea where the time has gone but it sure is going by fast!  He loves to talk.  We have no idea what he's trying to tell us but he will carry on a conversation with anyone who is willing to listen.  He's also cutting more teeth.  So far they haven't been too bad.  He also loves to get into mischief :)  We've had to redirect and tell him "no" more times than I can count. 

I had yesterday off from work and we had a great day to play!  We went on a ferry ride and met Tommy for lunch.  Garrett loved it and loved looking at the water.  He's a definite water boy!  He will also start swim lessons on Saturday.

Things are going really great here and everyday I am reminded of how blessed I am.  I remember those long, hard days even before we thought about adoption and when I look at where I am today, I'm amazed.  I can't wait for summer so I can spend even more time with him!  18 more school days :)

What we've been up to :)

Ok, so I know the last post I wrote I talked about how slack I had been with the blog. I know it's really been bad :) I'm going to try to write more and write comments :) I've been reading though and keeping up with all of you!

It seems like for a good part of February and well into March, our house battled the "sick bug." Poor Garrett had everything from a lovely stomach bug to tonsillitis. Of course this also all seemed to reach it's peak when I was on winter break--so much for fun time with mommy! He just wanted to be held and cuddled, which is fine by me since I don't get many of those days now.

He is getting into everything and his little personality is coming out more and more! It's so cute to watch him copy some of the things we do now. He has a lot to say but most of the time we have no idea what he is trying to tell us--it must be important though because often times it is accompanied with hands in the air :) We think he is the sweetest little boy ever!

He now has a little swing set in the backyard as well as a water table. That boy loves the water. Somehow I think we are going to be in trouble this summer when it comes to beach time. He loves to dip his face under in the bathtub and he's already learned how to blow bubbles in there. We've signed him up for swim classes starting in May so I can't wait to see what he'll do.

Happy Valentine's Day!

I know I've been a terrible blogger and reader lately! It feels like the days just fly by and chasing after a one year old has kept me pretty busy :) Weekends have been filled with birthdays and lots of family time! Life is great. Happy Valentine's Day!

Can't believe our sweet boy is 1! We had a great time and he had so much fun at his party!

Can't believe it

It's so hard to believe that my baby boy is going to be 1 in two days. I have no idea where the year has gone. He is such a blessing to us and I can't imagine my life without him. One of my favorite things, besides him saying mama, is he will now give kisses on "command." And I mean those big, opened mouth sloppy ones! I am loving every second of it!

We're having his party on Saturday. I'm trying to get everything together for it this week. I am hoping the weather is nice because we have so many coming.....the downside of having the whole family living close :) But we wouldn't have it any other way. They've been through everything with us so it's only right to have a big celebration with everyone. Tommy and I took off of work on Thursday so we can spend the day with him and do something fun with just the 3 of us.
